Terms of Service
These terms cover your agency's use of OpsBoard, the shared command board at opsboard911.com ("OpsBoard", "we", "us"). By setting up your agency on OpsBoard (with a trial, a subscription or a contract), you agree to them for your agency, and you confirm you're authorized to do that.
What OpsBoard is, and isn't
OpsBoard helps EMS, fire, police and emergency management personnel share a live board for daily calls, mass-casualty incidents and planned events. It is a coordination aid. It does not replace 911, computer-aided dispatch, radio communications, your agency's protocols, or the judgment of trained personnel, and it may be unavailable at times (for example when a device or network is down). Weather, flood zones, aircraft, hospital status, team positions and other live data come from public services and from devices, and can be late, wrong or missing. Your agency stays responsible for its own operational decisions.
Your account
The person who signs your agency up, or whom we set up as its admin, becomes the agency's first admin. Admins decide who can use the agency's board, and are responsible for invite links, web logins and removing access for people who leave or devices that are lost. Keep passwords and invite links private, and use two-step sign-in for web logins to the agency console.
Your data
Your agency owns what it puts into OpsBoard. We store and process it only to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not enter patient names or other protected health information. OpsBoard is not yet covered by a HIPAA business associate agreement, and it is not designed or approved for criminal justice information.
Trial, subscription and payment
- A new agency gets a free trial: 30 days unless we tell you otherwise, with a few people, tablets and saved units included. No card is needed to start.
- After the trial, your agency needs a plan to share the board between devices and to start new real incidents, events, calls or shifts. Without one, a device keeps everything it has, can finish an incident already running, can still save its reports, and can practise with the sample incident.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Card payments are processed by Stripe. If you subscribe during the trial, the subscription is first charged when the trial ends (or right away, if fewer than two days are left).
- Each agency on an account pays a one-time setup and training fee. It is charged with your first payment: at checkout (even during the trial), or on your first invoice. An agency added to the account later is charged on the next invoice.
- You can cancel any time from Plan & billing in your agency console. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the board stays shared until the end of the period already paid for. Payments aren't refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires.
- Agencies that need to pay by invoice, ACH or purchase order can arrange that with us.
- If a payment fails, the board keeps sharing for a 14-day grace period while you update the card.
Acceptable use
Use OpsBoard lawfully and only for your agency's work. Don't try to access other agencies' boards, test or overload the service without our permission, or resell it.
Changes and ending
We may improve or change OpsBoard and these terms; we'll post the new terms here and, for important changes, tell your admins. You can stop using OpsBoard at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay. Ask us and we'll delete your agency's data, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Warranty and liability
OpsBoard is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what your agency paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Questions: use the contact form at opsboard911.com/contact.
